An Angel Gets Her Wings

A Beautiful Soul

Aida Gloria Madrid Chavez, 65, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away unexpectedly after a fierce battle with COVID-19. Aida was a health care worker at Mission Trail Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, TX. She was humble, soft-spoken, silly, kind-hearted, nurturing, loving, thoughtful, understanding, loyal, giving, easy-going, generous and people commented on her joyful spirit. She will always live in our hearts as a daily reminder of strength and grace.

She is preceded in death by her sister Cindy Madrid, father Leopoldo Madrid, paternal grandparents Ambrosio Madrid and Maria De La Paz Martinez, and maternal grandparents Jose Luis Pacheco Sr. and Rosita Duran. Funeral services were at the Holy Trinity Parish Church in Arroyo Seco, New Mexico where she was born. A rosary was held on December 4th in San Antonio, TX.

Aida grew up signing with her mother and sisters in the church choir and continued as an adult with her husband and daughter – music was important in her life. She also encouraged and supported her younger brothers to pursue their musical dreams in bands and higher musical education through college at the University of New Mexico.

She was extremely loved:

  • Husband (Richard)
  • Only Daughter Rebecca (Boyfriend Jason and 3 Children)
  • Aida's mother Tranquilina “Nina” Pacheco
  • Five Sisters/Two Brothers: Rose Cortez (Ernest), Pearl Madrid (Gilbert), Lorenza Martinez (Alex), Isabel Duran (Johnny), Linda Madrid (Felix), Joseph Madrid (Yvette) and      Bardo Trujillo (Michele), many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and      friends.
  • The Chavez Family
  • The Kane Family
  • The Felux Family
  • The Bandy Family
  • Her Mission Trails Baptist Hospital Work Family
  • Many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends
